A whole generation of movie-goers are not aware of YVS Chowdary. But, in the 2000s, he was quite a force in the Telugu film industry. After his 2006 hit ‘Devadasu’, however, his career went downhill. After the failure of ‘Rey’ in 2015, he could barely recover.
“After ‘Rey’, my plan was to take just a two-year sabbatical. However, due to personal reasons as well as the Covid-19 pandemic, I couldn’t make a film. I am now back to wielding the megaphone,” YVS said today.
His next film features Nandamuri Harikrishna’s grandson, named Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, as the hero. YVS is also producing the movie on his newly minted banner, New Talent Roars @.
He is up for a huge challenge. “I have kept myself abreast with the latest trends. I watch all movies,” he says.
The film will complete its production work this very year. It will arrive at the cinemas in 2025.
