With a successful track record in Tollywood, including hits like “Prathi Roju Pandage,” “Taxiwala,” and “Baby,” SKN, in collaboration with director Maruthi, is presenting the Tamil movie “Lover” to the Telugu audience under the title “True Lover.” Starring Manikandan, Sri Gouri Priya, and Kanna Ravi, the film is produced by Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvraj Ganesan under the banners of Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment. Directed by Prabhuram Vyas, this unique love story is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on the 10th of this month. SKN shared the movie’s highlights in anticipation of its release.
As a producer, SKN acknowledged that “True Lover” is a smaller movie with a modest release compared to major films like “Eagle.” However, the decision to release on the 10th of this month is aimed at finding a balance acceptable to everyone. Stressing the importance of success for all movies, big or small, SKN emphasized the collaborative spirit in the industry. SKN expressed his association with People Media Factory, the production house behind “Raja Saab,” as a friendly collaboration, highlighting the need for collective success for the benefit of all technicians.
The journey of bringing “True Lover” to the Telugu audience began with a friend’s recommendation, prompting SKN and Maruthi to watch the movie together. Impressed by the film’s portrayal of the challenges faced by lovers, they decided to present it to the Telugu audience. SKN drew a distinction between “True Lover” and their previous venture “Baby,” acknowledging the diverse nature of these films. He noted that the upcoming movie is likely to resonate with the younger audience due to its adept handling of the complexities of love.
While expressing a preference for original films, SKN explained that certain aspects of “True Lover” compelled them to take on this project. The decision to approach Bunny Vas Distribution was based on the awareness of the rapid dissemination of film performances in other languages. SKN stressed the benefits of simultaneous releases to avoid situations where movies go to OTT platforms shortly after theatrical releases.
Trust, a central theme of “True Lover,” was highlighted by SKN as the cornerstone of any relationship. He expressed confidence in the movie’s success, citing impactful scenes and the belief in its relatability to the audience.
Reflecting on his affinity for love stories and youthful energy in films, SKN shared insights into his upcoming projects. With three youth-centric films and one exploring science fiction in the pipeline, SKN emphasized the appeal of content-rich narratives featuring newcomers.
The discussion concluded with SKN’s plans for the Hindi remake of “Baby,” titled “Cult Bomma,” directed by Sai Rajesh. Anticipating success in Bollywood akin to “Arjun Reddy,” SKN revealed ongoing collaborations with Santhosh Shobhan and Anand Deverakonda. He expressed aspirations to produce a supernatural movie and a project with Sandeep Raj, envisioning himself reaching the college level as a producer and ultimately working with Allu Arjun in the future.
