As nomination season approaches, chaos ensues within party meetings over ticket allocations. Dissatisfaction among leaders over the distribution of tickets has led to upheaval within the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), particularly in several districts.
In Andhra Pradesh, disagreements within party meetings have escalated without reaching a resolution. Primarily, divisions have emerged among six organizing committees in the Kurnool district. Discord among aspirants for candidacy in constituencies such as Nandyal, Nandikotkur, Emmiganur, Mantralayam, Adoni, and Kodumuru has caused turmoil within party ranks. Furthermore, tensions have intensified as rebel candidates have emerged, challenging the decisions made by the party leadership.
The situation is particularly tense in Nandyal, where sitting MLA Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy has been overlooked for a ticket in favor of TDP Farook Khan. Meanwhile, in Mantralayam, ticket aspirant Tikkala Jaya Surya has been sidelined, causing unrest among supporters. Similarly, in Emmiganur, supporters of candidate Bairi Reddy Rajashekar Reddy are demanding a change in candidacy, leading to internal conflicts. The situation is mirrored in Kodumuru, where Vishnuvardhan Reddy’s candidacy has sparked controversy, with TDP supporters expressing discontent over the party’s decision to provide him with a ticket.
The disarray within the TDP has been further exacerbated by the withdrawal of support from key figures within the party, such as Gudur Prabhakar Reddy, who has opted to cooperate with the opposition. With the party facing internal strife and dissent, the political landscape in Andhra Pradesh is witnessing unprecedented turmoil.
