Pushpa 2 will be released in theatres on December 5th. The decision was made in consultation with all distributors.
“We were intent on either December 5 or December 20. The former is a better date because ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ will be released on December 20 and we would find it difficult to get IMAX screens,” the producers today said.

The film will be released on a record number of screens in Karnataka. In Tamil Nadu, it will be released on more than 800 screens. In other words, Allu Arjun’s film will get as big a release in TN as a Thalapathy Vijay movie would.
Amit Thadani is releasing the movie in Hindi. He is expecting ‘Pushpa 2’ to set new benchmarks on the revenue front. He has also firmed up a big release in West Bengal, a market only a few non-Bengali films have been able to dominate.

Amid rumours that Shraddha Kapoor is doing an ‘item’ song in the movie, the producers said that no confirmation exists as of now. The name will be finalized later this week. The song will be shot in the first week of November.
Pushpa: The Rule is also credited with mopping up the highest revenue from non-theatrical sources. The overall revenue made by the movie so far is more than Rs 1,000 Cr.
Interestingly, the makers said that ‘Pushpa 3’ is on the cards. They didn’t give any timeline, though.
Finally, can the Indian audience hope to catch the movie on the evening of December 4th? No. There won’t be any pre-release premieres in India.
