“Kannappa” stands as one of Telugu cinema’s most lavish productions to date. Manchu Vishnu not only portrays the titular character but also takes on the role of producer.
The film boasts an ensemble cast featuring renowned actors from across Indian cinema. Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Shiva Rajkumar play significant roles in this depiction of the life and journey of the devout Lord Shiva devotee, Kannappa.
Joining the ensemble is none other than Prabhas, one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated stars, in a special appearance. Prabhas recently graced the sets in Hyderabad to wrap up shooting for his brief yet impactful role.
Expressing his excitement, Manchu Vishnu shared, “My brother joined the shoot #Prabhas.”
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, this pan-Indian project promises a cinematic spectacle.
Interestingly, Prabhas’s grandfather, Krishnam Raj, starred in the lead role in the 1976 hit “Bhakta Kannappa,” which is hailed as one of the finest devotional films. While plans for a remake with Prabhas didn’t materialize, he will now make a cameo appearance in Manchu Vishnu’s rendition of his grandfather’s classic, “Bhakta Kannappa.”
