Annu Kapoor’s Hamare Baarah is stayed by the Supreme Court of India for its offensive dialogues on Muslims.
Earlier Bombay High Court too stayed the film. However, the filmmakers approached the Supreme Court for relief. The court had to stay the release of the movie as the film maker’s disinclination to remove certain offensive scenes from the trailer. It also ordered a panel from the Central Board of Film Certification to review the film.
“If the teaser is so offensive then what about the whole movie… Prima facie it seems you have failed since you yourself deleted the scenes from the teaser.”, said the supreme court of India.
