Panna Royal, renowned for directing horror hits like ‘Calling Bell’ and ‘Rakshasi,’ has now donned the producer’s hat for the film ‘Plant Man,’ a venture under the Universal Studios banner. Helmed by director K. Santosh Babu and starring Chandrasekhar and Sonali, this recently released scientific comedy has garnered widespread attention and is enjoying significant success. In acknowledgment of this achievement, the film’s team hosted a press conference to express their gratitude to the audience for the overwhelming response. The event saw the presence of Chandrasekhar, Sonali, producer Panna Royal, director K. Santosh Babu, Baby Prekshitha, sister Balaraju, Ashokvarthan, writer Saikrishna, Tadivelu, Balaraju, Venkat, and other key figures.
Producer Panna Royal conveyed his heartfelt thanks, stating, “Today, on the birthday of our mentor BA Rajugari, wherever he is, his blessings are with us. He supported me immensely since ‘Calling Bell,’ and now he would have felt elated to know that a film under this banner has succeeded. As a director, I am known to all, but this is my debut as a producer. We initially began ‘Plant Man’ as a short film, but the response has been exceptional. With such positive feedback, we aim to produce two short films each year, introducing new talent. The success of ‘Plant Man’ is attributed to the dedicated efforts of the actors and technicians involved. I am truly grateful to the audience for their unwavering support.”
Baby Prekshitha shared her experience, expressing, “As this was my first film, there was some tension. However, the director and producer motivated me greatly.”
Ashokvardhan, reflecting on the film’s journey, commented, “During the making of the film, it felt like a small project. However, the script’s quality is remarkable, resulting in an excellent output. The audience response speaks volumes. Thanks to the viewers for this tremendous success.”

Halfway through shooting, I asked the same question again, and to my surprise, Pannagaru said it would be released in theaters, not on OTT or YouTube. Thanks to Panna Royalgaru, who embarked on this film with newcomers, giving opportunities to talents like us and showcasing us on the big screen. This movie is filled with comedy, ensuring smiles from start to finish. It’s a film that everyone should watch happily with their families. Following the film’s release, I’ve received two more offers.”
Tadivelu shared his satisfaction, stating, “Although I played a small role in the film, I performed well. Despite being in the industry for 20 years, I am extremely pleased with the character I portrayed in this movie. The audience’s response in theaters has been amazing.”
Director K. Santosh Babu expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the audience for giving our small film such tremendous success. Producer Panna Royal is the reason behind the film’s creation. They appreciated the concept I presented and initiated this project. Pannagaru, DOP Karnangaru, and Sainathgaru played crucial roles in the film’s success.
