’90’s – A Middle Class Biopic’ is regarded as the most-successful Telugu-language web series ever. It is streaming on ETV Win. The OTT platform was shocked to learn through a survey that if one person watched the show on ETV Win, four persons watched it on piracy sites like ibomma.
Netflix and Amazon Prime Video have failed to curb the menace of piracy for many years. Their content appears on piracy sites on the same day of their release.
ETV Win, though, has taken “innovative” steps to curb the menace. At an event on Friday (July 26th), Sai Krishna from the platform said that 6-7 months of R&D was done to come up with technological interventions that make pirating of ETV Win’s content impossible.
“Although Netflix and Prime have deep pockets, they haven’t been concerned about piracy. On the other hand, we have done our best to challenge piracy sites. Our upcoming shows won’t be available on piracy sites,” he said.
