Mega Prince Varun Tej is set to embark on his Pan Indian debut with the much-anticipated film “Matka,” directed by Karuna Kumar, known for his work in “Palasa” and “Sri Devi Soda Center.” The film, produced by Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala and Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) of Vyra Entertainments, promises to be a cinematic extravaganza with a grand scale, substantial budget, and top-notch technical standards.
Commencing today, the regular shoot of “Matka” has officially kicked off in Hyderabad. A sprawling set has been erected in the city, meticulously recreating the ambiance of the 50s to the 80s, reflecting the era in which the story unfolds—from 1958 to 1982.
The narrative of “Matka” is inspired by a real incident that captivated the entire nation. Varun Tej, the Mega Prince himself, will be seen donning four distinct avatars throughout the movie, spanning a remarkable 24 years. The actor has undergone a remarkable transformation, making “Matka” his highest-budget project to date.
Adding to the allure of the film, Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chowdary join the cast, playing pivotal roles opposite Varun Tej. The ensemble also includes Naveen Chandra and Kannada Kishore.
The production team has assembled a group of highly skilled technicians to ensure the film’s visual and auditory appeal. A Kishor Kumar Thangalaan, known for his work in “Fame,” takes charge of the cinematography, while GV Prakash Kumar, a prolific composer in the southern film industry, is set to create the film’s musical backdrop. Karthika Srinivas R, renowned for his work in “Pushpa,” assumes the role of the editor. Ashish Teja Pulala serves as the production designer, and Suresh is the art director. The film boasts multiple high-octane action sequences, each meticulously supervised by four accomplished fight masters.
