There have been ongoing Rumors and reports suggesting tension between ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ makers and composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP). Speculation has been rife that DSP may be removed from his role as the Music DIrector for the highly anticipated film. In response to these rumors, DSP made a bold statement at the Pre-Release Event of Pushpa 2 in Chennai on November 24.
During the event, DSP openly addressed the Controversy surrounding his involvement in the Film’s background score, which led the producers to bring in other music directors. He claimed that the producers — Naveen Yerneni, Mohan Cherukuri, and Ravi Shankar — seemed to have more complaints about him than appreciation. This remark highlighted growing friction between the composer and the Film’s Production Team.
While interacting with the crowd, DSP initially spoke in Tamil but switched to Telugu when fans requested it. He used the opportunity to comment on the importance of asking for what one deserves, whether it’s payment or proper recognition. DSP directed some of his criticism toward producer Ravi Shankar, accusing him of blaming him for not delivering the Songs and background score on time. He also shared a personal incident where he arrived at the event slightly late and was criticized for his timing, suggesting there was a lack of understanding from the Producers.
This outburst from DSP has raised concerns about the dynamics between him and the Pushpa 2 team, especially as Reports have indicated that other Music Directors, such as SS Thaman, Sam CS, and Ajaneesh Loknath, were brought on to handle the film’s background score, while DSP continues to work on the songs.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is set to release on December 5, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil. The film’s promotional campaign began with a trailer launch in Patna, followed by the release of the “Kissik” song in Chennai.
