‘Bharateeyudu 2’, also known as ‘Indian 2’, is set to release on Netflix on August 9th. The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The Hindi version is currently in the works.
Reportedly, Lyca Productions faced difficulties renegotiating with Netflix after the film’s underperformance in theaters. The streaming giant was reluctant to pay a higher fee to the ‘Indian 2’ makers.
The OTT version will be twenty minutes shorter than the original theatrical cut. If you watched ‘Indian 2’ in theaters during its first week, you saw the three-hour version. The OTT release will be twenty minutes shorter.
Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, SJ Suryah, and others star in this Shankar-directed film. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music.
In our review of ‘Indian 2’, we called it half-baked. The film’s sequel, ‘Indian 3’, will be released in the first half of 2025.
