Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s film, Amaran, has taken the box office by storm, delivering a phenomenal opening day performance in Tamil. The film’s Telugu release raked in an impressive Rs 4.5 crore despite competition from Lucky Baskhar and KA.
In Tamil Nadu, Amaran witnessed massive occupancy rates, leading to a projected gross of over Rs 20 crore had it released solo. This remarkable feat has secured the film the third spot in the list of 2024’s highest day one openings in Tamil Nadu, trailing only behind The Greatest Of All Time and Vettaiyan.
When it comes to online ticket sales, Amaran has also made an impact. It ranks as the third highest-selling Tamil film of 2024 on day one, with 480,000 tickets sold. Notably, The GOAT and Vettaiyan benefited from extraordinary pre-sales. Despite this advantage, Amaran’s day one performance is still considered monumental.
The film’s success can be attributed to several factors, including the strong star power of Sai Pallavi in Telugu and Tamil, the hero’s image in Tamil, the genre, and the positive word-of-mouth.
