The South Indian International Movie Awards 2023 nominee list is currently available. The event is expected to take place in Dubai on September 15 and 16.
South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA), one of the most important events for the South Indian film industry, is back to honor films produced in the previous year. It recognizes films and celebrities from all of South India’s main languages, including Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada. According to sources, this year’s coveted award ceremony will take place in Dubai on September 15 and 16.”In 2022, South Indian films like RRR, KGF, Kantara, Vikram, and PS1 broke the language barrier and became national hits.” SIIMA 2023 will feature a strong contestants list.”.
In the most popular categories, RRR (Telugu), Ponniyin Selvan (Tamil), Kantara (Kannada), and Bheeshma Parvam (Malayalam) are topping the SIIMA Nominations.
In Telugu, RRR, directed by S.S Rajamouli and starring Jr.NTR and Ram Charan, has 11 nominations, while Sita Raman, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur, has 10 nominations.
In Tamil, Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan:1 starring Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has 10 nominations, while Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil has 9 nominations.
Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty and starring Rishab Shetty and Sapthami Gowda, and KGF Chapter 2, directed by Prashanth Neel and starring Yash and Sanjay Dutt, top the Kannada nominations with 11 each.
In Malayalam, Bheeshma Parvam, directed by Amal Neerad and starring Mammootty, leads with 8 nominations, while Thallumaala, directed by Khalid Rahman and starring Tovino Thomas and Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Hridayam, directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, are tied for second with 7 nominations.
