Let’s not mince words. ‘Indian 2’ is Shankar’s first bad film. Even ‘Nanban’, a braindead remake of ‘3 Idiots’, was okay. Actually, Thalapathy Vijay’s fans enjoyed it.
‘Indian 2’ has no redeeming feature. The film might work in the first weekend commercially. However, if the social media chatter is any indication, the talk is universally negative.
Ram Charan’s fans, who have pinned hopes on ‘Game Changer’, should be worried. This is not to say that ‘Game Changer’ being bad is a foregone conclusion. No film should be prejudged. But then, it is in the nature of fanboys to have high hopes from directors who are in form. And vice-versa is also true.
‘Game Changer’ is also a vigilante drama like ‘Indian 2’ (uff!). Worryingly, it might deal with the theme of corruption. We hope director Shankar has reserved fresh ideas for Mega Power Star’s movie.
