To commemorate this occasion, director Jayaram has officially announced a biopic on the legendary actress. Chandrika Ravi, who gained fame for her scintillating dance moves in the special song in Veera Simha Reddy, has been chosen to portray the iconic role of Silk Smitha. The film will be produced by S B Vijay under the banner of STRI Cinemas, with V. Mahastri Amirtharaj serving as the presenter.
Apart from the project announcement, the filmmakers have unveiled Chandrika Ravi’s character as Silk Smitha, showcasing an astonishing resemblance to the legendary actress. The revealed look is captivating, capturing the essence of Silk Smitha with wide-open eyes and a subtly anxious gesture of nail-biting. Clad in a saree, the actress complements the portrayal with the signature Bindi on her forehead, echoing Silk Smitha’s distinctive style.
Blessed with the approval of Silk Smitha’s family, the film aims to narrate the untold story of the iconic actress, bringing her life and journey to the forefront.
The regular shooting of the movie is set to commence shortly, and the release is slated for 2024 across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.
